Mark has been a member of the Ontario Bar Association since his law school days. He served on the National Council of the Canadian Bar Association the years 1984 through 1986. During that time, he served on the Ontario Bar Association’s Workers Compensation Committee and Young Offenders Committee. Mark served as the President of the Kent Law Association from 2017-2018 and is currently serving as the Southwest representative on the Ontario Bar Association.

Mark has served the community of Chatham-Kent a number of ways. He is a former President of the Chatham Kiwanis and served as Vice-President of the not-for-profit housing organization known as Columbus Estates. Mark has also served on the Local Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee and was a member of the Chatham Public Library Board as a representative of the Separate School Board.

Mark was on the founding Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity Chatham-Kent, having served in various capacities from 2008 through 2012 acting as Legal Counsel and President.

Mark is an avid motorsport enthusiast, having belonged to a number of car clubs including the Ontario Z-Car Club and the Hound Dogs Car Club of Chatham.

Through the years he has owned a variety of automobiles ranging from a 1948 Willys Jeepster, 1975 TVR 2500M, 1970 Chevelle.  At present Mark has a restored 1978 Datsun 280z.
